Job Summary: Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) for a 13‑week travel assignment in Burbank, California. As a key member of the IR team, you will prepare patients, operate advanced imaging equipment, support physicians during minimally invasive procedures, and ensure patient safety and comfort in a fast‑paced environment.
Required Qualifications- At least one year of recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
- Valid ARRT certification or RCIS/RCES certification in compliance with state regulations
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA/ARC)
- Valid state Radiologic Technologist license
- PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification
- Additional certifications or licenses may be required for this position
- Prepare and position patients for interventional radiology procedures, ensuring comfort and safety
- Operate imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound, to guide procedures
- Assist physicians by scrubbing in for sterile procedures, passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and procedural details
- Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions
- Ensure proper radiation safety measures for patients, staff, and self
- Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, ensuring readiness for procedures
- Manage and restock procedural supplies, including catheters, guide wires, and contrast agents
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other team members to provide seamless patient care
- Follow all infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols
- Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned to support IR lab operations
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Proficiency in following written and verbal instructions and basic PC skills
- Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Professional demeanor and effective teamwork across diverse personnel
- Capability to perform fine motor tasks during procedures and when operating equipment
- Ability to manage high‑stress situations, irregular schedules, and continuous concentration on detail
- Adequate visual acuity and effective communication skills
