Position OverviewThe Digital Press Operator is responsible for all aspects of operating large format digital printing equipment to meet Imagine's production and quality standards. Daily activity includes material handling, finishing, and maintaining production workflows.
Responsibilities- Operate the digital press, ensuring print performance, ink adhesion, curing, colour control, and finishing methods meet quality standards and are defect‑free.
- Use internal database systems to track jobs and record all production specifications related to printer settings, quantities, stock usage and colour profiles; fill out job ticket paperwork accurately.
- Perform scheduled maintenance procedures on equipment and troubleshoot equipment‑related problems.
- Communicate simple instructions between shifts and departments; assist in other areas during peak times while keeping the press productive.
- Gain an in‑depth understanding of RIP programmes, colour profiles, image manipulation techniques, and perform quality checks prior to job launches.
- Maintain clean and safe work environment: daily maintenance routine, print‑head cleaning, removal of ink build‑up, disposal of scrap and trash, and organisation of raw materials.
- Perform daily maintenance routine on equipment and work area.
- Clean printheads and wipe down printer surfaces.
- Remove all ink build‑up or residue from print beds.
- Dispose of all scrap, trash, and empty containers.
- Keep work area clean and organized; sweep and mop as needed.
- Track and record job specifications in internal system.
- Maintain equipment maintenance log.
- Assist other departments during peak times.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to read and use tape measure and other measurement equipment.
- Colour perception.
- Basic math skills.
- Data entry proficiency.
- General computer skills.
Physical Requirements
- Manual dexterity for repetitive work.
- Frequent walking and standing.
- Exposure to non‑harsh chemicals; safety gloves and glasses required.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lb; occasional team lifts.
USD $25.00 – $35.00 /hr.
Pay StatementNational pay range may vary by location. Compensation includes base salary plus potential bonuses, commissions or incentive programmes.
