The Precision Grinder operates precision grinding machines to produce parts according to established blueprint and engineering specifications.

• Set and adjust machine controls according to product specifications, utilizing knowledge of machine operation
• Measure work pieces and lay out work, using precision measuring devices
• Select machine tooling to be used, utilizing knowledge of machine and production requirements
• Study blueprints, work orders, or machining instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences
• Mount and position tools in machine chucks, spindles, centers, or other tool holding devices, as well as using hand tools
• Activate machine start‑up switches to grind or cut work pieces according to specifications
• Inspect or measure finished work pieces to determine conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as gauges or micrometers, holding tolerances of +/- .001 to .00002 on inside diameter (I.D.) and outside diameter (O.D.), and checking parts against blueprint requirements
• Lift and position work pieces manually on machine tables, faceplates, or chucks, using clamps
• Set up, operate, or tend grinding and related tools that remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, sharpen edges or corners, or buff, or polish metal or plastic work pieces
• Observe machine operations to detect any problems; make any necessary adjustments to correct problems
• Any other tasks assigned by supervisor or management

• Experience:
  
  3+ years of experience in centerless grinding
• Knowledge:
  Working knowledge as a Precision Grinder in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment; experience with Cincinnati centerless grinding machine (manual) is highly preferred
• Skills/Abilities:
  Centerless, and inside diameter/outside diameter grinding
• Education/Certification:
  
  High School Diploma or equivalent
• Eligibility Requirement:
  This position may require access to controlled data or information. Where the position requires such access, only U.S. persons will be considered. As a U.S. Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

$21.40 to $35.60, depending on experience, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance‑based bonus programs.
