Base pay range is $58,000.00 to $63,000.00 per year, as provided by Insight Global. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience – speak with your recruiter to learn more.

EDM Operator (Wire Electrical Discharge Machine)

Burbank, CA

• Program, set up, and operate Wire Electrical Discharge Machines (Sodick Wire and Sinker machines – Charmilles Form 20 & Eleroda Dis).
• Enter programs and all necessary parameters into machine control.
• Inspect and measure finished parts to determine conformance to specifications using measuring instruments (gauges, micrometers, indicators).
• Read and interpret blueprints, understand tolerances, surface finishes, and .0002 tolerances.
• Collect SPC data to maintain process control.
• Mount and position fixtures or vise on the machine for optimal wiring.
• Activate machine control and offsets to wire parts to final dimensions according to specifications.
• Complete the operation within time specifications by signing off on the router and forwarding to the next work center.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Perform any other task assigned by supervisor or management.

• 3+ years experience as an Electrical Discharge Machine Operator. Experience setting up and operating Wire EDM machine (Sodick).
• Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment (calipers, etc.).
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications. Able to run multiple machines simultaneously. Ability to read and comprehend moderately complex instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• High School diploma or equivalent or vocational school degree or EDM training.

• Sodick machine experience.
• Program, setup, operating experience.
