Position: Assembler I - Valves & Transducers 1st Shift

Job Summary

The Assembler I – Valves & Transducers works under supervision performing assigned assembly processes to manufacture Crane Aerospace & Electronics products in accordance with military and/or other assembly standards using visual aids, verbal and/or written instructions.

This is for 1st shift work hours starting from 5:30 am – 2:00 pm, Monday‑Friday.

Our products are found in some of the toughest environments: from engines to landing gear; from satellites to medical implants; from missiles to unmanned aerial systems (UAS). The Burbank facility plays a key role in delivering safe aircraft and passenger transport worldwide.

Essential Functions
  • Perform assigned assembly tasks
  • Prepare components before assembly: clean, mark, and inspect components, sub‑assemblies, or completed assemblies
  • Test finished assemblies
  • Set up and operate assigned equipment and machinery
  • Observe proper health and safety procedures when handling hazardous chemicals
  • Identify and report any difficulty that would affect the correctness and quality of the work in process to the lead or supervisor
  • Participate in cleaning of area and machinery and take part in team meetings for improvement
  • Cross‑train to work on at least 2 products
  • Complete job‑related company training courses
  • Support Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives, including 5S, KPI’s, Standard Work, Problem Solving, and other initiatives as they arise
  • Be flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by supervisor or management
Non‑Essential Functions
  • Understand and/or participate with internal/external audits
  • Perform inventory cycle counts
  • May be required to repair/rework defective or returned assemblies
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience:

    0‑2 years of Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge:
    Raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Skills:

    Strong verbal and written communication;
    Proficiency in reading comprehension of the English language;
    Basic computer skills
  • Abilities:
    Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception;
    Manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity;
    Adept hand‑eye coordination and arm‑hand steadiness;
    Ability to interpret production or engineering prints, planning information, and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagrams;
    Ability to work well in a moderate to high‑paced, high‑volume setting
  • Education / Certification:
    High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • IPC Soldering Certification
Eligibility Requirement
  • This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Working Conditions
  • Normal manufacturing environment with required use of safety equipment (eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps, and other required PPE)
  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
  • Standing: approximately 25% of time;
    Sitting: approximately 75% of time
  • Lifting (pounds): up to 40 pounds
  • Pushing (pounds): up to 40 pounds
  • Mental/Visual: use of soldering equipment, microscopes, magnifying glasses
  • Workspace: assembly cell
Salary Range

Salary range: $20.76 – $25.77 /hr. Salary may vary based on experience, skills, training, and qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for performance‑based bonus programs.
