* Job Summary:

** The CNC Machinist produces machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipment and supplies.
*
* Essential Functions:

*** Understand work orders, blueprints, manufacturing orders, and machining parameters
* Validate material used
* Maintain specifications;
Troubleshoot, detect malfunctions and take appropriate actions;
Know when to replace worn tools
* Listen to machining operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and compensate for problems
* Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, fixtures and knowledge of GDT standards
* Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions taken thus far as well as any necessary further steps
* Any other task assigned by supervisor or management

* Minimum Qualifications:

* Experience:

** 2+ year of experience machining with CNC Lathe, preferably in aerospace manufacturing. Experience on 4-5 axis CNC Lathe (Okuma & Harding Lathe experience preferred).
* ** Knowledge:
** Knowledge of various inspection equipment i.e. micrometers, calipers, and height gages;
Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations;
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensional Tolerancing;
Understanding of cutting tool Geometry;
Knowledge of tooling and coordination
* ** Skills/Abilities**:
Able to work quickly and efficiently through Process Improvement structure;
Good verbal and written communication;
Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping

* Education/Certification:

** High School Diploma or equivalent
* ** Eligibility Requirement:
** This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

* Preferred Qualifications:

*** Experience working with Okuma & Harding machine
* Understanding of CNC G Code
* Understanding of basic Math, Geometry and Trigonometry
* Excellent teamwork skills

* Working Conditions:

*** Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
* Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
* May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
* Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary
