RN Clinical Staff (PACU) provides post-anesthesia nursing care for surgical patients, ensuring safe recovery and high-quality outcomes in a mission-driven safety-net setting.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and continuously monitor patients recovering from anesthesia
- Manage pain, sedation, and patient comfort
- Interpret vital signs and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams
- Ensure safe patient handoffs and continuity of care
- Document assessments and interventions in the EHR
- Educate patients and families with compassion and cultural sensitivity
- Current RN licensure and strong clinical judgment
- Ability to monitor post-anesthesia status and manage acuity changes
- Proficiency interpreting vital signs and supporting hemodynamic stability
- Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Accurate, timely documentation and patient-focused education skills
