Arden White Aerospace and Aviation Recruitment are currently working with a leading aviation training and flight simulation organisation that is looking to recruit a Simulator Maintenance Technician to join its team in Burgess Hill, West Sussex
.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an electrical, electronic, avionics or flight simulation background to work hands on with commercial Full Flight Simulators and Fixed Based Training Devices within a highly technical 24/7 operational environment.
The position operates on 12 hour day and night shifts
, with flexibility around shift patterns and job share arrangements.
Salary is open and dependent on experience and expectations
, with the client interested in understanding what suitable candidates would require to consider a move.
- Carry out preventative maintenance on Full Flight Simulators and associated simulator systems.
- Assist with diagnosing and correcting faults across simulator systems.
- Complete pre flight checks prior to daily simulator operations.
- Perform basic visual alignments.
- Run automatic and manual Qualification Test Guides (QTGs).
- Carry out minor workshop repairs, including soldering and crimping.
- Record and track maintenance activities using the maintenance management system.
- Complete calibrations, tool inspections and other secondary maintenance duties.
- Support logistics activities including parts receipt, repair, testing and validation.
- Ensure simulator equipment is maintained in accordance with quality and operational requirements.
- Provide technical and customer support when required.
- Work in accordance with relevant regulatory, quality, health and safety procedures.
- Develop and maintain an awareness of Part ORA and CS FSTD(A) regulations.
- An understanding of electrical and electronic systems.
- Good understanding of fault finding principles and corrective maintenance techniques.
- Working knowledge of flight simulator systems, including some or all of avionics, aircraft systems, I/O, motion, control loading and visual systems.
- Previous experience working on Boeing and/or Airbus simulators would be advantageous.
- Experience with CAE, Sim Industries and/or TRU training devices would be beneficial.
- Previous experience completing routine preventative maintenance would be advantageous.
- Experience running or checking Qualification Test Guides would be beneficial.
- Previous experience within a customer facing or technical support environment would be advantageous.
- An HNC/HND in an aircraft related discipline, avionics, electrical or electronic engineering would be beneficial.
- A practical and proactive approach to fault finding and technical problem solving.
- Flexibility to work within a 24/7 shift environment.
The normal shift pattern can operate as either 4 days, 4 off, 4 nights and repeat
, or 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off and repeat
.
The client is also open to job share arrangements
, offering the potential for a 4 on, 12 off shift pattern
, subject to two suitable candidates being available.
