At Seattle Gymnastics Academy, we operate programs under three categories:
Play, Learn, and Compete. Our Recreational classes, part of the Learn umbrella, teach strength, skill, and character through gymnastics. This role is an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to work in a fun, dynamic environment and build a safe, positive setting for children.
Full‑time and part-time opportunities are available. Applicants may be looking to transition from desk work, hospitality or retail into a fulfilling, stable role. Candidates should be responsible, willing to learn, and committed to creating a positive environment for our gymnasts.

- Teach progressive gymnastics classes in one of our departments – Preschool, Recreational, Trampoline & Tumbling, etc. Many instructors work across multiple departments.
- Create lesson plans that are purposeful and align with the skill chart per level. You may use state of the art equipment and technology.
- Maintain consistent attendance of scheduled classes; honor commitments to gymnasts.
- Track skill development and keep parents informed through face‑to‑face chats and the online platform.
- Participate in paid training opportunities (SGA University courses, USA Gymnastics clinics, in‑house SGA trainer sessions, etc.).
- Assist in light cleaning duties to keep the gym fresh.
- A desire to promote a positive learning environment for every child.
- Responsible, reliable, and consistent; leads by example for peers and gymnasts.
- Minimum one year of gymnastics coaching experience or prior experience as a gymnast.
- Basic knowledge of gymnastics progressions.
- Enthusiasm for working with kids with a safe, positive, engaging demeanor.
- Desire to work as part of an energetic team sharing our mission, vision, and values.
- Experience working in a gym or kid‑friendly environment.
- Experience in a high‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
- Effective communicator with children and adults.
- Comfortable with various noise levels and uneven surfaces.
- Ability to walk on uneven surfaces and lift up to 50 pounds while spotting gymnasts.
- Desire to grow within our organization.
- Part‑time evening shifts (3 pm–9 pm) and weekend shifts (8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.) are available.
