Overview
Ross, a Fortune 500 off‑price retailer with over 2,200 stores, is seeking a Retail Associate to deliver a positive shopping experience. The role requires greeting customers, maintaining a clean store, and supporting the Ross brand in a dynamic, high‑energy environment.
Essential Functions- Practice safe behaviors, maintain awareness on the sales floor, and keep egress clear.
- Treat customers and associates with respect, provide prompt assistance, and use register training to answer questions.
- Respond to customer service calls immediately, handling issues courteously and involving store leadership when needed.
- Represent and support the Ross brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high‑touch areas).
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the company dress code.
- Execute daily assigned sizing and recovery per company best practice to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store.
- Understands Loss Prevention Awareness program, merchandise protection standards, and follows all merchant protection practices.
- Safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise, demonstrating integrity and honesty in all interactions.
- Follow all Mark‑Out‑of‑Stock (MOS) policies, process each piece, and notify leadership for all disposals.
- Follow all cash, check, charge card, refund, void, and offline procedures, maintaining accuracy when handling bankable tenders.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency, maximize productivity by executing all store best practices and minimizing steps and touches in workflow.

- Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative, and pleasant manner.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC as required.
- Spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
- Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- Other assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
- Stockroom shift workers: regularly push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds.
