Base pay range$80,000.00/yr - $/yr
Aeroblaze Laboratory is a test lab with a focus in the aerospace industry. We provide flammability testing and certification for aircraft interiors and engine compartments. In this role you will be given ample opportunity to grow, including the opportunity to become a Certification Manager and/or FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER). We are looking for someone who wants a long‑term position in our 9 year‑old company to help us grow the certification side of our business.
Job Description- Write certification test plans and reports
- Analyze engineering drawings and data to determine flammability requirements
- Communicate with customers to explain flammability requirements
- Conduct and/or witness routine flammability and fire testing of materials
- Our work involves flammability testing, which means you will occasionally spend extended periods on your feet and be exposed to heat and fumes (with proper safety equipment, including a respirator)
- We're a small company (currently 7 people) so we all help where needed. You'll occasionally be doing things that don't fall under your job description
- You will be traveling for work once or twice a year
- Previous work as Designated Engineering Representative (DER) or Unit Member (UM); or
- Engineering Degree + 4 years experience in Aircraft Flammability Certification; or
- 6+ years experience in Aircraft Flammability Certification
- You must be a U.S. Citizen
- You must either live in or be prepared to relocate to the Fort Worth, Texas area
- Must have working knowledge of FAA and/or foreign CAA Flammability Regulations (FAR/JAR 2X.853, 855, 856)
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Demonstrated technical writing and communications skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Typing Speed 40+ WPM (will be tested)
- Analytical and numerical skills ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement; ability to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios
- Good organization skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to perform physically demanding work such as moving and lifting equipment, assisting with testing or test witnessing in hot environments, etc
- Prior experience with CAD Software preferred
Our interview process is designed to assess both your technical expertise and your fit within our team. If selected for an interview, the first screening interview will be via Zoom. The second interview will be conducted in person, during which you will be tested on key skills and requirements listed above.
