The Purchasing Manager will oversee all procurement activities to support manufacturing operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of raw materials (e.g., steel, components, and fabrication supplies), parts, equipment, and services. This role is critical to maintaining production schedules, controlling costs, and supporting our commitment to on-time delivery and quality craftsmanship.

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with production needs and company goals.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for raw materials, components, machinery, and indirect supplies.
• Manage vendor relationships, conduct supplier audits, and ensure compliance with quality standards and delivery timelines.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and inventory teams to forecast material requirements and avoid shortages or excess inventory.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality and reliability.
• Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and supply chain risks to mitigate disruptions.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier databases, and inventory levels using ERP or purchasing software.
• Lead cost-reduction initiatives and support continuous improvement in procurement processes.
• Supervise purchasing staff or assistants as needed, providing guidance and training.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, ideally in a manufacturing environment (experience with metal fabrication, industrial equipment, or bulk material handling is a plus).
• Proven track record of negotiation, vendor management, and cost savings.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing materials (e.g., steel, bearings, motors) and supply chain principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and purchasing software.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, custom manufacturing setting with attention to detail and deadlines.

• Certification in procurement (e.g., CPM, CPSM, or APICS).
• Experience with just-in-time inventory or lean manufacturing practices.
• Familiarity with CEMA standards or industrial conveyor systems.
