Registered Nurse RN – Emergency Department – PRN, Days – TH Burleson

Fast‑paced, high‑volume ED department is looking for top‑skilled nurses.

Work location: Texas Health Burleson, 2750 Southwest Wilshire Blvd, Burleson, TX 76028

Work hours: PRN II/per diem, Day shift (covering 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. shift), Minimum requirement: 3 shifts per 6‑week schedule;
Weekend requirement: 1 shift per 6‑week schedule;
Holiday requirement: 1 major/1 minor.

• 10‑bed emergency department
• Located about 15 miles south of downtown Ft. Worth
• Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week

• Providing care for a wide variety of patients from neonate, pediatric and seniors covering an array of illnesses and injuries

• Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
• CLIAFE: must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency® requirements
• BCLS – must be obtained prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
• ACLS – required within 90 days of hire
• PALS – required within 90 days of hire or ENPC – within 12 months of hire
• NIHSS – required within 90 days of hire
• TNCC or ATCN – required within 12 months of hire
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – required within 90 days of hire
• 1‑year registered nursing experience required
• Current ED experience strongly preferred

• Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast‑paced environment.
• Maintain a positive, customer‑focused attitude toward patients
• Possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
• Have basic computer skills using medical management application systems

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.

• Assess the patient
• Plan the care of the patient
• Intervene as appropriate
• Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporate age‑specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiate action to meet patient and/or significant others’ need for information
• Maintain continuity of patient care inter‑shift, inter‑hospital, and while expediting out‑of‑hospital transfers
