Overview

The Team Member is responsible for interacting with customers and team members, supporting selling initiatives and performing assigned tasks, while delivering a Legendary Customer Experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance; work scheduled shifts and varied hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA:
  • Greet the Customer
  • Uncover Customer’s Needs & Wants
  • Recommend Product Solutions
  • Add Value & Appreciate the Customer
• Perform a combination of duties during the majority of the workday, accurately, efficiently and safely, including:
• Operate cash register/computer following cash handling procedures
• Merchandise recovery and mandatory freight processes
• Plan-o-grams procedures (merchandising, sets, and resets)
• Assemble merchandise and perform janitorial duties
• Execute price changes/markdowns
• Operate forklift (age restrictions apply)
• Operate cardboard baler (age restrictions apply)
• Assist customers with loading purchases
• Ensure a Legendary shopping experience and safety of birds (sanitize and care for poultry as required)
• Complete all documentation for duties listed above
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Experience:
  
  No experience required. Retail experience and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred.
• Education:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Ability to read, write and count accurately.

• Farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Basic computer skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically with minimal conflict

Working Conditions

• Indoor environment with moderate noise; generally favorable conditions
• Hard surfaces (concrete/asphalt); lighting and temperature are adequate
• Shifts vary by store but generally no less than 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours
• Promote a safe and productive work environment and adhere to safety training and guidelines

Physical Requirements

• Move and transfer merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds; push/pull up to 2,000 pounds with equipment assistance
• Occasionally lift or reach overhead; frequently stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb
• Move throughout the store for an entire shift; access all areas of the store
• Operate store equipment (e.g., dolly, handtruck, forklift, baler, computer, cash register); forklift/baler rules apply if age-appropriate
• Read, write, and count accurately for documentation; communicate effectively with team members
• Handle birds/poultry and complete required training; may require propane dispensing certification (age restrictions apply)
