Aboutthe Role
Sycomp’s Professional Services Team is seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to support infrastructure deployments, hardware integration, and hands‑on technical operations within our Burlingame data center environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and a customer‑centric mindset. This role requires the ability to install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise‑class systems while collaborating with both internal teams and external customers.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and test server, network, and storage hardware in staging and data center environments.
- Perform racking, cabling, labeling, and physical setup of infrastructure equipment.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Linux and Windows operating systems
. - Work with routers, switches, and network infrastructure; strong networking fundamentals required.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues; perform equipment replacements as needed.
- Conduct logical configuration and verification of installed systems.
- Provide timely, high‑quality technical support and field service when on customer sites.
- Document work clearly and communicate effectively with team members and clients.
- Follow project scopes, timelines, and established procedures to ensure successful delivery.
- Maintain strong customer satisfaction through professionalism and quality execution.
- Assist Technical Sales when needed with technical insights or onsite support.
- 2–5 years of technical experience in IT, data center operations, hardware support, or a related field.
- Hands‑on experience with servers, switches, and related infrastructure equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑determination skills.
- University degree in a related field or relevant professional training.
- CCNA or CCNP certifications are a plus.
