Burlingame Family Pet Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team!
This is an excellent opportunity for Veterinary Assistants who are eager to utilize their skills in both surgery and outpatient care while making meaningful connections with clients and their pets.
In this role, you will:
- Maintain detailed medical records to support accurate patient care.
- Support exam room workflow by assisting with outpatient care, patient handling, and preparing for appointments.
- Communicate with clients, review treatment plans, provide discharge instructions, and address questions with empathy and clarity.
- Assist with patient preparation and recovery during procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of your team to maintain an efficient schedule while upholding the highest standards of patient care.
This position is ideal for Veterinary Assistants who enjoy engaging with clients and supporting outstanding patient care in a collaborative, team environment.
This full-time position offers a 4/10 schedule and shifts scheduled Sunday through Wednesday.
Full-time benefits and compensation- Compensation: $25-30 per hour, for each hour worked*
- Shift differential:
Additional $2/hr on weekends and weekdays after 7pm - Bonus package: $500 for those with 3+ years of consecutive, current VA experience

- 3+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting.
- Proficiency in the following skills:
Venipuncture and administering injections;
Radiology and laboratory processing;
Surgical set up and assistance.

We’re equipped to perform soft-tissue surgery, general wellness, urgent care, dentistry, orthopedics, and more out of our state-of-the-art surgical suite. Our 5 doctors are well-equipped with digital radiology, in-house diagnostics, all computerized records (Evet/Pulse), and most of all, a talented and committed support staff team.
We are conveniently located near BART, Cal Train, and bus routes, offering easy access for employees who commute by public transportation.
