The Reality Labs team at Meta is looking for Software Engineers to support our engineering teams as we build towards our goal of helping more people around the world come together and connect through world‑class Augmented and Mixed Reality hardware and software. Our XR Tech organization is focused on cutting edge research and development of machine perception technologies from early concepts to production level across all of Meta’s AR/MR products and surfaces. These include Quest products, Meta Glasses and Family of Apps (Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Whats App). We develop core capabilities across a range of product domains including Spatial AI, Avatars, AR/MR remote presence/calling, AR Commerce, AR Sharing and more.

• Design core, backend software components
• Conduct design and code reviews
• Maintain, analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system infrastructure
• Establish self as an owner of a particular component, feature or system with expert end-to-end understanding
• Successfully complete projects at large scope while maintaining a consistent high level of productivity

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience with distributed systems development
• Experience maintaining, analyzing and improving efficiency, scalability, and stability of backend systems
• Experience improving quality through thoughtful code reviews, appropriate testing, proper rollout, monitoring, and proactive changes
• Proficient with Python, C/C or Hack programming languages

• MSc or PhD degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Experience building and shipping high quality work and achieving high reliability
• Experience owning a component or feature a distributed system
• Exposure to architectural patterns of large scale software applications

Meeting with team members on projects, coding and code-reviewing, writing design docs, brainstorming and presenting designs and maintaining the production systems.
