The Role
Our client is a well-established organization with a strong presence in Burlington, known for its collaborative and supportive team environment. They are currently seeking a Staffing Accountant to join their team on a 6+ month maternity leave contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking for long-term contract stability while gaining hands-on experience in a busy and well-structured finance department.
The Staffing Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations with a focus on payroll-related accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
This is a full-time, fully in-office position based in Burlington, working Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.

Support payroll accounting processes, including reconciliations and accrualsPrepare and post journal entries related to payroll, benefits, and staffing costsReconcile payroll-related general ledger accountsAssist with month-end and year-end closing activitiesEnsure accurate tracking and reporting of staffing and labor-related expensesSupport invoicing, billing, and cost allocations related to staffing operationsAssist with statutory remittances and government reporting as requiredMaintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company policiesCollaborate closely with payroll, HR, and finance teamsPerform other accounting and administrative duties as requiredRequirements
2–4+ years of experience in full cycle accounting, or a related rolePost-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldStrong attention to detail with excellent organizational skillsComfortable working with deadlines and confidential informationProficiency with Microsoft Excel; ERP experience is an assetStrong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindsetPrevious experience supporting payroll or staffing-related accounting is a strong asset#INDSTRIVEON
