We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day financial operations of a growing organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to keep financial records accurate, organized, and compliant, while also contributing to process improvements over time. You will work closely with leadership and external accounting partners to ensure smooth financial operations and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Daily / Monthly Accounting

  • Record all financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
    , accurately in the accounting system
  • Maintain the general ledger
    , ensuring entries are complete and correct
  • Process vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursements
  • Support EHT and HST reporting and assist with remittance preparation
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly financial statement working papers for leadership review
  • Assist with payroll processing and tracking of related remittances
  • Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable subledgers
  • Track and record fixed assets, expenses, and prepaids using Excel and asset/property tracking software
  • Quarterly / Annual Support

  • Prepare financial reporting packages for management
  • Assist external accountants with year-end close and tax preparation
  • Maintain organized financial records to support audit and compliance requirements
  • General & Administrative

  • Maintain a well-organized digital filing system for financial documentation
  • Communicate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders regarding billing and payments
  • Contribute to improving bookkeeping processes and internal controls over time
  • Skills & Qualifications

    Required

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or financial record-keeping
  • Proficiency with accounting software (such as Quick Books Online or similar platforms)
  • Strong Excel skills
    , including formulas and pivot tables
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
    , manage priorities, and meet deadlines
