Automation Specialist; EIT

Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000 CAD. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job‑related reasons.

Job Summary

CIMCO Refrigeration is looking to hire an Automation Specialist. This role will be based out of our Burlington office. The Automation Specialist at CIMCO will design, integrate, and implement automation solutions for various systems in industrial and recreational facilities. This role involves creating and testing DDC/PLC code, developing control panel schematics, and managing automation projects.

Role Responsibilities

• Design, configure, integrate, and implement automation solutions for various systems in recreation and industrial facilities.
• Create, test, and document DDC/PLC code and HMI interfaces, and develop control panel schematics using Electrical AutoCAD.
• Integrate automation systems with other devices using various communication protocols and specify/order instrumentation.
• Manage assigned automation projects, ensuring they stay within budget and align with company standards.
• Install, test, and commission control systems on-site, providing customer training and support.
• Collaborate with other engineers to ensure automation designs match mechanical and electrical specifications, and contribute to continuous design improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering or Community College controls/automation Diploma
• Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems.
• Exposure to Allen‑Bradley or other PLC and Delta or other DDC software and hardware an asset.
• Ability to work with plant engineers, external vendors, operators and management to coordinate projects and assignments is essential.
• Ability to troubleshoot control systems from the field element up through operator interfaces and databases.
• Exposure to control system‑networking technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual (English and French / Oral and written) is an asset
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced multi‑tasking environment.
