We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Mechanical CAD Designer to join our team. The CAD Designer will work with multi-disciplined engineering, design, and project teams in developing design drawings utilizing AutoCAD and other related products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Create, edit, and modify AutoCAD drawings based on design provided by engineersUtilize annotation for clarificationDevelop and read mechanical piping and steel structures as well as mechanical and shop drawingsCollaborate with engineers and shop and construction operations to meet fabrication and constructability requirements.Typical Design will Consist of:
Mechanical and Steel Structure Layout PlansStructural Specifications and NotesMechanical and Steel Structure Fabrication DrawingsSteel Connection DetailsAssist with design tasks including structural modeling, detailing, bill of materialsUnderstand & meet project schedule, and quality requirements with accuracy and efficiencySelf-checks all work performed to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to internal reviewActively assist in the delivery of a complete project. This may include phone or e-mail correspondence, attending meetings, and other project documents required for project completionEducation:
Post Secondary Diploma / Degree in Mechanical EngineeringExperience
Required:
5 or more years of relevant CAD drafting designQualifications
Required:
High proficient use of Autodesk AutoCADUse of Inventor, Solid Works, or similar 3D software is a plusAbility to read and interpret mechanical and steel structural designsExperience with mechanical piping, fittings, valves, steel structures, and sheet metalsUnderstanding of engineering principles and assembly, fabrication, and construction workflowsKnowledge of project management software and computer applications including Word, Excel, Power Point Organized team player able to work in a deadline driven, fast-paced environmentStrong written and verbal communication skills#spo
