Ulteig is seeking an Engineering Supervisor (ES) in the Renewables Electrical Department focused on Battery Energy Storage Systems, Solar Energy, or Wind Energy Electrical Design. The ES will lead a subset of the team, foster on‑job leadership development, manage projects, and report directly to the Technical Manager while collaborating with sales, marketing, account management, and project management.
Responsibilities
Project Technical Lead – 60%
Manages and leads engineering activities during the proposal and design stages of projects.
Provides project oversight, including scope management, change orders, and schedule maintenance.
Maintains high quality and responsiveness to meet internal and external client requirements.
Oversees engineering activities of team members.
Reviews project deliverables and assumes responsibility as needed.
Supports development of tools to improve technical efficiency, accuracy, and quality.
Manages or supports professional development opportunities for the team.
Management Responsibilities – 30%
Provides strategic direction and technical oversight for staff performance goals.
Coaches, trains, and develops engineering staff.
Participates with the technical manager in weekly team meetings.
Conducts performance reviews, training, and 1:1 meetings.
Supports hiring, new business opportunities, and resource planning.
Assists with budgeting activities.
Business Development Responsibilities – 10%
Partners with Sales and engineers to promote revenue growth and service expansion.
Supports proposal efforts with resources, review, and collaboration with various departments.
Maintains positive client relationships with existing clients.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university.
6+ years of experience in an engineering field.
Professional Engineer (PE or PEng registration) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire (strongly preferred).
Self‑motivated, analytical, capable of working under pressure with a positive attitude.
Strong analytical and information‑management skills.
High initiative and ability to manage multiple projects with clear expectations.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Proven experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and related software.
Up to 15% travel required.
Permanent authorization to work in the US and/or Canada.
Compensation
Target base compensation range: $136,600–$184,400 CAD (factors may include location, experience, and job‑specific skills).
