The Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineering I you will be responsible for designing mechanical systems and components in the traditional nuclear market and in new projects to develop nuclear technology and future nuclear‑powered systems.
You will report to the Robotic Tooling Design Manager and be located at our Burlington, Kitchener or Peterborough, Ontario office. This is a hybrid role – employees will work onsite two days per week.
Main Responsibilities
Develop 3D models, detailed manufacturing drawings, and bills of materials for complex electro‑mechanical first‑of‑a‑kind tooling.
Assemble and test custom equipment through the design evolution from prototype to finished product.
Help develop test procedures for systems to ensure compliance with design specifications.
Help operate the final tooling system in the customer facilities.
Provide technical oversight and mentoring of more junior members of the Engineering team.
Perform classical hand calculations and analysis (including FEA) to qualify systems and/or components against applicable codes & standards.
Prepare clear and concise design reports and technical specifications.
Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
0 to 2 years of relevant experience; recent new graduates without experience will be considered.

Salary
The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $77,600 to $97,000 per year.
