Mechanical Engineer (Mechanical Proposal & Cost Engineer)

Position Overview: We are seeking a Mechanical engineer with expertise in interface adapters, cables, connectors, and building Bills of Materials (BOMs) to develop proposals that detail parts, labor, and associated costs for complex build-to-print assemblies.

Note: There is no or minimal design work with the role.

• Act as technical liaison between the customer, engineering, assembly, and procurement.
• Build and price Bills of Materials (BOMs) for various interface test assemblies/adapters, cables, and other products, based on a drawing package that typically includes dimensional drawings, parts lists, wiring diagrams, fabrication files, Gerber files, and ASME Y14.100 dimensional drawings.
• Produce working bills of materials at the level sufficient for the purchasing group to distribute requests for quote or place orders for material.
• Make/buy decisions for cost proposals, and select suppliers for individual BOM items.
• Translate BOMs into detailed proposals, incorporating all labor costs necessary for assembly.
• Work with suppliers and internal procurement to source cables, connectors, and other required materials, ensuring all elements are accounted for in the proposal.
• Follow an established Build-to-Print process with all designs and specifications provided by the client.
• Maintain a close working relationship with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate project execution.

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or other engineering degree).
• 5–7 years of experience.
• US Citizenship is required.

Pay rate: $50.00–$58.00/hr.
