Delivering innovative, value-add consulting, project delivery, asset operations and maintenance solutions is what we do. From 26 offices in 15 countries, with projects in over 80 locations worldwide, we create sustainable outcomes for our people, clients and communities.

Our team in Canada is growing, and we are currently recruiting for an Intermediate/Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Industrial and Infrastructure Business Line in our Burnaby and Burlington offices. We are looking for a technically capable and motivated engineer who is ready to take on greater responsibility, assist in leading a team of engineers and designers, and play a key role in delivering electrical engineering projects.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to further develop technical expertise and leadership skills while contributing to a diverse range of utility, infrastructure, and industrial projects.

About the Role:

Assist in leading and coordinating a team of electrical engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and supporting the delivery of engineering projects.

Take ownership of assigned electrical engineering deliverables, ensuring quality, technical accuracy, and compliance with project requirements, schedules, and budgets.

Perform electrical engineering design and calculations for power distribution systems, substations, and associated electrical infrastructure.

Develop and review engineering deliverables, including single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, grounding and lighting layouts, technical specifications, and design reports.

Perform electrical power system studies, including short-circuit, load-flow, protection coordination, arc-flash, grounding, and motor-starting analyses.

Support the design and specification of substation equipment, including circuit breakers, disconnect switches, and associated systems.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, suppliers, and contractors to resolve technical issues and support project execution.

Review the work of junior engineers and designers, providing mentorship and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and quality assurance procedures.

Conduct site visits, field reviews, and inspections to support design development, construction, and commissioning.

Contribute to project planning, technical evaluations, cost estimates, tender documentation, and proposal preparation.

Support senior engineers and project managers in managing technical priorities, coordinating resources, and delivering projects successfully.

About You:

Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.

Professional Engineer designation in British Columbia or Ontario, or eligibility for registration.

Approximately 5–15 years of relevant electrical engineering experience, preferably in utility, municipal, infrastructure, or industrial projects.

Strong understanding of electrical power distribution systems, equipment selection, engineering design principles, and applicable codes and standards, including CSA, IEEE, ANSI, NEC, and NESC.

Proficiency with electrical engineering design tools and power system analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, or equivalent.

Demonstrated initiative, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to work independently while recognizing when senior technical input is required.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach and an interest in developing leadership capabilities.
