Senior Aviation Acoustics Consultant

Apply aviation acoustics expertise with HMMH as a Senior Consultant supporting airport noise, air quality, and environmental projects worldwide.

Based within commuting distance of San Diego International Airport, this hybrid Senior Consultant role supports HMMH’s Aviation Environmental & Sustainability Group. You will contribute to acoustical testing, modeling, data analysis, sustainability planning, regulatory compliance, mitigation, and public engagement. The work combines technical consulting, project management, and client communication.

• Conduct acoustical testing, field measurements, analysis, and technical reporting
• Perform acoustical modeling and quality control for airport programs
• Manage project budgets, contracts, equipment, and laboratory operations
• Train junior staff in acoustical modeling, GIS, and data analysis
• Present findings to diverse audiences and collaborate with clients

• Three to eight years of relevant experience
• Technical bachelor’s or master’s degree in an accepted field
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and communication skills
• Experience using sound or professional measurement equipment
• Ability to write clear reports, letters, and proposals
