Make an impact with our Consumer Insolvency team as a Vice-President(e). This diverse team of professionals assists Canadians with navigating and overcoming financial challenges and achieving financial freedom. Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and delivery of consumer insolvency services
  • Lead data analysis and review financial records
  • Administer formal insolvency appointments including bankruptcies and proposals
  • Develop relationships with current and potential referral sources including credit counsellors, debt counsellors, lawyers, accountants, etc.
  • Review and approve all relevant BIA documentation including Statements of Affairs, 170 Reports, Court Orders and Affidavits, Certificates of Discharge, Trustee’s Supplementary Reports to Court, Pre and Post Bankruptcy Tax Returns, Final Statements of Receipts and Disbursements, etc.
  • Represent insolvency estates in court, as required
  • Manage practice planning and scheduling as well as financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, variance recognition)
  • Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to debtors; ensure debtor needs are met
  • Maintain high quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues or key risks relevant to the debtor
  • Network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities and lead the preparation and delivery of presentations to referral sources
  • Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews
  • Contribute to strategic and operational planning related to file and practice management, as well as the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
  • Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary
  • Skills and Experience

  • Completion of a CIRP certification and is a Licensed Insolvency Trustee
  • CPA designation is considered an asset
  • 7+ years of insolvency experience, specifically consumer insolvency experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act
  • Strong business and practice development skills
  • Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills
  • Strong strategic planning and conceptual thinking skills
