Make an impact with our Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) team as a Manager (or Senior Manager). This diverse team of professionals delivers customized tax strategies within a complex and dynamic regulatory framework. As a trusted advisor, you’ll ensure clients capitalize on opportunities to receive government support for innovation by identifying eligible projects and navigating the multitude of government incentive programs and funding opportunities available.

Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of SR&ED tax engagements for Medical Doctors and Life Science clients, in addition to other industry segments who are conducting leading-edge Scientific Research & Experimental Development (SR&ED) activitiesReview financial statements, general ledgers, trial balances, T2s, and other client source information to maximize the SR&ED tax creditsDeliver industry and technical expertise relating to SR&ED through client interactions, reports, technical work, management presentations and high-quality deliverablesEvaluate business processes and help clients (such as Doctors with Medical Professional Corporations (MPCs) identify and track eligible projects and costs under the SR&ED investment tax credit programManage a portfolio of clients – deliver projects on time and on budgetGather supporting documentation and evidence of experimentation sufficient to satisfy the requirements of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Present arguments for eligibility in a clear and concise written format compliant with CRA criteriaNetwork across MNP and as needed in the local business community for business development opportunitiesMaintain flexibility to travel, as necessarySkills and Experience
CPA designation with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance/accounting or a related fieldCompletion of In-Depth Tax program or other tax specialist courses/designations are considered an asset2 to 5 years of public accounting experience such as SR&ED Tax credits and other incentives, corporate income tax returns, financial accounting, financial analysis, financial reporting, preparing/reviewing SR&ED claimsTax software experience is an assent (Tax Cycle, Tax Prep, Profile, etc.)Knowledge of Canada’s SR&ED program is preferred, and knowledge of SR&ED within MPCs would be an assetBilingual (English and French) would be an asset
