Laboratory Technician

Position: University of Waterloo Laboratory Technician
Support microbiological studies at the University of Waterloo as a Laboratory Technician. This full-time role focuses on essential lab support and undergraduate course assistance.

You will play a critical role in the smooth operation of microbiology preparation rooms, supporting undergraduate biology courses. Your tasks will include sterilizing materials, preparing lab supplies, and assisting in laboratory demonstrations. An understanding of microbiology techniques and the ability to manage priorities are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage sterilization of lab waste and glassware

• Prepare necessary lab equipment and demonstrations

• Organize and replenish supplies for class sessions

• Assist with lab cleanup and waste disposal

• Help the department technicians with general tasks

Requirements:

• BSc or College diploma in Biology or related field

• At least two years of laboratory experience

• Familiarity with microbiology and lab equipment

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Capability to work in a busy lab environment
