The Data Analyst position is responsible for the collection and analysis of data to support strategic initiatives and operational decision making. This position will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and transform those into comprehensive reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the reporting pipeline, empower internal business partners, and provide a foundation to help The Lakefield Veterinary Group make data driven decisions.
Successful candidates will have strong engineering, communication and knowledge in on-prem SQL Server and Azure data systems. They will also have the desire to dive into the complexity of our business and navigate both relationships and process. Familiarity with common cloud data tools, best practices, and experience with Power Apps is a plus.
Responsibilities
Lead the design, implementation, and support of PowerBI dashboards and reports.
Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into reports that drive operational efficiencies.
Use Azure services such as Azure ADLS, Event Hub, Data Factory, and Purview to improve and speed up the delivery of our data products and services.
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery and reliability.
Communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences both in written and verbal form.
Develop and refine dashboards and data visualizations in Power BI to measure KPIs.
Analyze and document business requirements and data specifications.
Identify and analyze issues and problems, determine root cause, report on problem status and resolution.
Support development of end user training and reference materials.
Develop technical solutions and documentation reflecting data design and mapping.
Required Qualifications
2+ years’ experience working in MS SQL with a proven ability to write efficient queries.
3+ years’ experience in an Analyst role creating reports and dashboards in PowerBI.
Ability to assess performance and tune performance of queries and dashboards.
Expertise in creating complex DAX calculations.
Experience with data modeling principles like star schema and dimensional modeling.
Desired Qualifications
Experience programing in additional languages such as Python and C#.
Experience creating Microsoft Power Apps.
Solid understanding of data architecture and BI best practice principles.
