About the Role

This 16 month co-op role supports the manager of Infrastructure & Security for Canada by providing provide direct embedded support services within our Engineering department services at the WESCAM division. The successful candidate will be a talented and motivated Linux Administrator with exceptional customer service skills, is adept at managing and coordinating diverse support demands, and drives towards efficiency and continuous improvement for their customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Endpoint Management: Maintain and support Linux endpoints, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Automation with Ansible: Develop and manage Ansible playbooks for configuration management and automation tasks.
  • Containerization with Docker: Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Docker containers to support various applications and services.
  • Atlassian Support: Provide support and administration for Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket), ensuring smooth operation and user satisfaction.
  • Upgrade Projects: Plan, execute, and manage small upgrade projects, ensuring minimal disruption and efficient implementation.
  • Customer Support: Provide excellent customer support, addressing technical issues, and resolving user inquiries promptly and effectively.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with team members and customers, providing clear and concise updates and documentation.
  • Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Linux endpoint management.
  • Strong experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
  • Solid knowledge of Docker for containerization.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
  • Proven ability to manage small upgrade projects from planning to execution.
  • Excellent customer support and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCSA, RHCE) are a plus.
  • Qualifications:

  • Must be able to complete a 16 month Co-Op term starting May 2027
  • Currently enrolled and in good standing with co-op program through accredited university
  • Able to obtain Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
