Job Summary
Reporting to the Team Supervisor, the Instrumentation Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing process instrumentation and control systems that support critical plant operations. This role ensures equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and safe, efficient service delivery through proactive maintenance, emergency response, and collaboration with internal teams and external contractors.

Duties And Responsibilities

Complete a combination of proactive and reactive work safety and effectively while ensuring timely compliance to schedule and regulatory standards.

Perform maintenance activities such as calibrations, repairs, troubleshooting process control on a variety of plant process instrumentation and related control systems.

Plan, schedule, diagnose and repair any partial or full failures and follow escalation, failure cause and problem prevention processes to minimize repair times, meantime between failures.

Conduct condition appraisal and refurbishment planning to restore equipment reliability and support the optimization of care plans to maintain condition over the useable life of the asset.

Complete Hazard assessments for each work order to ensure all risks are mitigated as much as reasonably possible.

Contribute to maintenance planning and scheduling by providing input on work scopes, required labour, tools, materials and equipment, estimated job duration, hazards and required controls, and coordinating work activities with Operations and other maintenance disciplines.

Provide complete and accurate technical feedback on completed work orders using SAP, Microsoft Office applications and other applicable software systems, including equipment condition, failure codes, labour hours, materials used, identified failure causes, corrective actions completed, recommendations for follow-up maintenance, and assist with material procurement as required.

Support reliability improvement initiatives by participating in equipment failure investigations, root cause analysis and identification of recurring equipment issues, and provide recommendations for corrective actions and improvements to preventive and predictive maintenance practices.

Follow all inventory management and SAP master data coordination processes.
