Staff Plus is currently hiring Steel Production Operators for our client in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
This position involves handling, stacking, packaging and inspecting steel products according to production and customer specifications. The ideal candidate has previous experience in steel, automotive, aluminum, metal fabrication, heavy machinery or a similar industrial manufacturing environment and is comfortable performing physically demanding production work.

Location: Burlington, ON
Pay Rate: $23.64 - $27.85/hour
Shifts Available:
Day Shift: 7:00 AM-3:00 PM
- Afternoon Shift: 3:00 PM-11:00 PM
- Afternoon shift includes an additional $0.45/hour premium
What You'll Do:
- Handle, align and stack sheets of steel according to production specifications.
- Prepare and secure steel bundles using appropriate packaging and banding materials.
- Label and tag completed products accurately.
- Perform quality checks to verify product type, size, quantity and condition.
- Read and follow technical documents, blueprints, schematics and work instructions.
- Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting as required.
- Use basic measuring tools to verify product specifications.
- Complete production documentation and checklists accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.
- Operate material-handling equipment where trained and certified.
- Report equipment, production, quality or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing or production experience required.
- Previous experience in steel, automotive, aluminum, metal fabrication, heavy machinery or a similar industrial manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
- Candidates whose experience is exclusively in food production may not have the industrial manufacturing background required for this position.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints and schematics.
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and production safety standards.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical or vocational training is an asset
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and work full time hours as required by this position
Candidates must be able to:
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Bend and crouch for extended periods when required.
- Handle tools, materials and machine components.
- Work in a noisy industrial manufacturing environment.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment.
