Community Registered Practical Nurse Casual

Support patients at home throughout the KWC area with medication administration and clinical monitoring. CareKW offers casual nursing hours in three communities.

This community nursing opportunity is open to Registered Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses with diverse backgrounds. CareKW’s responsibilities include patient and family-centred care, respiratory and physical assessments, suctioning, feeding support, and daily-living assistance. Every shift requires careful documentation.

• Provide patient and family-centred care
• Complete head-to-toe physical patient assessments
• Perform tracheostomy or oral suctioning
• Assist with activities of daily living
• Collaborate on patient plans of care

• Strong documentation and clinical skills
• High level of interpersonal skills
• Current CNO registration and good standing
• Valid work or study permit, if applicable
• Access to a vehicle considered an asset

Use community nursing expertise, patient monitoring, and collaborative care skills while serving CareKW clients in Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge.
