Location  This position is required to work in person at the RPF Operations Centre, 3330 Harvester Road, Burlington. Work location is subject to change at the discretion of the City due to operational demands.

Position Overview  This position plays a vital role in the Roads, Parks & Forestry Department by ensuring the efficient and secure transportation of deposits, mail, equipment, materials and supplies between various City facilities and other locations.
Important note  The successful candidate will not be eligible to participate in the GSD program due to the schedule of this role.
Responsibilities  Key responsibilities for this position include:
Safely transport and deliver bank deposits from multiple Roads, Parks & Forestry sites, assuming responsibility for securing large sums of cash and ensuring deposits are completed at the bank.
Deliver mail, packages, and other materials daily between City facilities, City Hall, and external locations, including confidential or special delivery items requiring direct handling.
Adjust and prioritize daily work schedules as assignments change to ensure all critical tasks are completed on time.
Pick up and deliver supplies, tools, parts, and equipment from local businesses and surrounding areas as required.
Use the City Purchase Card and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with City procedures.
Plan efficient delivery routes using navigation tools and local knowledge.
Conduct daily vehicle inspections, coordinate routine maintenance, and maintain vehicle cleanliness inside and out.
Maintain accurate daily delivery and pick-up logs to ensure proof of delivery and accountability.
Perform physically demanding work, including lifting and carrying heavy items, loading and unloading vehicles, driving for extended periods, and navigating stairs and vehicles while carrying materials.
Load, unload, and transport materials, equipment, and supplies within the Roads, Parks & Forestry Operations Centre. Provide assistance in RPF stock room as required.
Provide job orientation and training to a designated backup to ensure continuity of service.
Assist with backup duties for other positions as operational needs require.
Requirements  A valid Class G driver’s license is required with an acceptable driver’s abstract with no more than three (3) driving related convictions or an accumulation of no more than three (3) demerit points in the previous three (3) years prior to the date of hire, and/or no administrative driver license (ADLS) suspensions.
This position requires a high level of responsibility, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
