School Social Worker, Family Advocacy & Support Services, Crisis Counselor
Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting young learners as an elementary social worker. In this school-based role, you’ll be instrumental in fostering students’ social, emotional, and academic well-being. What we’re looking for:
- Experience working as a social worker in an elementary school setting
- Deep understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and social/emotional support practices
- Licensed or certified as a School Social Worker (or eligible)
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and advocacy skills
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct social-emotional support to students through counseling, crisis intervention, and group work
- Develop and implement intervention plans for students facing academic, behavioral, or emotional challenges
- Assist in identifying students’ needs by conducting assessments and participating in student support meetings
- Serve as a liaison between school, families, and community agencies to ensure coordinated services
- Support classroom staff with strategies for promoting positive behavior and social skills
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
