BURLINGTON, IA | Klingner & Associates, P.C. is seeking a Transportation Engineer.

At Klingner, you’ll lead innovative designs for roadways, highways, and bridges that connect and protect the traveling public. Your advanced experience will be applied across projects for local, county, and state clients. Responsibilities

• Lead the development of roadway designs, ADA ramp designs, signalized and roundabout intersection designs, geometric studies, intersection design studies, traffic studies, traffic management analyses, opinions of probable cost, and traffic staging plans.
• Develop site layouts along with grading and drainage designs, utility development, site preparation and demolition, soil erosion and sedimentation control, and construction detail plans.
• Work with – and follow the design standards and requirements of – the Iowa Department of Transportation, other state departments of transportation, county highway departments, and municipalities to complete designs.
• Complete transportation-related projects for public municipal facilities, public and private school projects, and private developments, including multi-residential, mixed-use, and commercial properties.
• Utilize Open Roads Designer, Micro Station, Auto Turn, and / or other programs to create client deliverables.
• Develop technical specifications and special provisions for project documents.
• Provide grant application and funding documentation support.
• Potentially assist with field inspections, data collection, and construction observation to support design development and construction.
• Coordinate with Klingner staff members, subconsultants, clients, and other key stakeholders.
• Complete other tasks as required.

PLEASE NOTE:
This is a full-time position. Work days will primarily be in the office; however, work on jobsites is also possible.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Professional Engineer, hold a bachelor of science in civil engineering, and have experience working with the Iowa Department of Transportation.
• 4-25+ years of experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Open Roads Designer is a plus.
• Able to work independently or with others in a friendly, safe, organized, and productive manner.
• Dependable, trustworthy, and an ethical individual with great work ethic.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to clearly communicate project details to fellow team members, construction crews, and client representatives.
• Excellent documentation skills.
• Able to organize, prioritize, and perform work assignments with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Salary Range: $36-$60

Salaries may vary based on experience and qualifications. The listed ranges are typical.
