Job Description & How to Apply Below

Cooling performance limits high-power computing, semi-conductor fab, cell networks, photonics, power electronics, and most of our digital world. Alloy Enterprises enables customers to break through these constraints with novel complex metal components that dramatically improve heat dissipation in high-performance systems. Alloy’s patented Stack Forging™ process enables complex micro-geometries, resulting in single-piece, leak-tight parts that deliver superior cooling performance, lower pressure drops, and exceptional reliability.

Founded in 2020, Alloy is a 45-person hardtech startup that has raised over $50M in capital and is shipping components to customers manufacturing servers, lasers, semiconductor equipment, and defense systems.

About the Role

Alloy is looking for a digitally focused and detail-oriented Digital Manufacturing Drafter to join our production team full-time, onsite 4 days per week. In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing build-ready files for metal part production — slicing, orienting, generating support structures, and optimizing part layouts for print quality and throughput. You’ll also serve as a key resource for design support, assisting our Thermal Engineering team in optimizing part geometry for manufacturability and creating production-ready drawings.

Additionally, this role acts as the Onshape Workflow Administrator, helping to improve how the broader team interacts with CAD models, standardize documentation, and drive efficiencies across our design-to-production pipeline. This is a hands‑on, cross‑functional position that plays a critical role in bridging engineering design and digital part execution.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare build files for production, including part orientation, slicing, and support structure generation
  • Review part designs and ensure they are production‑ready, flagging issues or risks
  • Provide design support to the Thermal Engineering team: optimize parts for manufacturability and create clean, annotated production drawings
  • Identify and implement efficiency improvements in CAD workflow and documentation processes: manage file structure, templates, version control
  • Maintain a library of validated build strategies, parameters, and fixtures
  • Contribute to build documentation, including setup notes and best practices
  • Participate in build reviews and collaborate with Process, Applications, and Production teams
What You’ll Bring
  • Strong CAD skills — Onshape or Solid Works highly preferred
  • Ability to interpret and create 3D models and 2D technical drawings with GD&T
  • Process‑oriented mindset with interest in optimizing digital workflows
  • Strong written and visual communication skills
  • Experience working cross‑functionally with engineering and production teams
  • 2–5 years of experience in additive production, CAD administration, or digital fabrication environments
  • BS in Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field — or equivalent experience

Pay Range: $65,000-$75,000 annually dependent on experience, qualifications, and education level
