The Machine Learning Research Group is searching for outstanding AI and ML research interns to join our research team. We are passionate about research that both advances science and has impact in the real world. You will be part of an amazing collaborative research team that publishes at the top venues in machine learning and artificial intelligence. Our expertise includes recommender systems, content moderation, foundation models, privacy preserving technology, probabilistic programming, and AI agents.
Your contributions have the chance to create real impact.
- Create new datasets that push the limits of existing AI and ML technology
- Research, design and implement novel methods
- Contribute to research that may lead to publications or conference presentations
- Collaborate with other team members and teams
- Transfer technology to product groups
- Collaborate with external researchers
To be considered for a Research Assistant position in the Machine Learning Research Group, you must possess the Objective Minimum Qualifications (OMQs) below. Please ensure that your application clearly indicates that you meet these OMQs, either on your resume, application questions, and/or by uploading additional documents such as a transcript.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this role. Oracle is not in a position to offer US immigration sponsorship (includes H-1B, TN, O-1, green card, F-1 e.g. EAD, OPT, CPT, I-20, F-1 visa stamp, etc.).
- Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Recommender Systems, Content Moderation, Natural Language Processing, Speech Processing, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or equivalent, AND returning to the program after completion of the internship.
- Research and/or work experience in Recommender Systems, Content Moderation, NLP, Speech Processing, CV, ML, AI, or equivalent
- Excellent programming skills in Python plus hands-on experience with common ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch)
- Outstanding research and publication track record
- Excellent communication skills
- Reside in the United States and/or attend a university in the US
- Minimum 3.0 GPA

Compensation and BenefitsUS:
Hiring Range in USD from $19.62 - $38.32 per hour; from: $40,800 - $79,700 per year. Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on factors including knowledge, skills, experience, and internal peer equity.
