Full-time Construction Project Manager Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Construction Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing commercial, multifamily, and high-rise construction projects. This role requires a professional with 6-12 years of relevant work experience who can effectively oversee all aspects of complex construction projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Execution:
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other consultants to ensure project designs meet client requirements and comply with local building codes and regulations
    • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from pre-construction planning to final handover
    • Implement and maintain project management best practices and methodologies
  • Team Management and Leadership:
    • Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, including subcontractors, suppliers, and internal staff
    • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide guidance to team members
    • Conduct regular team meetings to ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals
    • Resolve conflicts and address issues that may arise during the project
  • Budget and Cost Control:
    • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality
    • Monitor and control project expenses, identifying potential cost overruns and implementing corrective measures
    • Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors to optimize project costs
    • Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders, including cost projections and variance analyses
  • Quality Assurance and Safety Management:
    • Ensure all construction activities adhere to quality standards, building codes, and safety regulations
    • Implement and enforce site safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment
    • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address potential quality or safety issues
    • Collaborate with quality control teams to develop and implement quality assurance processes
  • Stakeholder Management and Communication:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress
    • Manage client expectations and address concerns promptly and professionally
    • Coordinate with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and community representatives as needed
    • Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders on project status, challenges, and solutions
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on the project
    • Monitor and manage project risks throughout the construction process
    • Implement contingency plans when necessary to address unforeseen challenges
    • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement
  • Technology and Innovation:
    • Utilize project management software and tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency
    • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies in construction management
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • 6+ years of progressive project management experience
  • Experience with managing projects exceeding $100M in value.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with project management platforms such as Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, and Excel.
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, scheduling, contracts, and cost control practices.
  • Capable of navigating active construction sites and ensuring safety compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop project teams in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience contributing to business development efforts, including networking and building professional relationships within the industry.
