The program counselor will be responsible for overseeing the program that takes place at Bolton Valley Resort, providing facilitation and supervision of program participants during transitions, transportation, and at the mountain/clubhouse. Counselors will be required to ride the bus to and from Bolton Valley Ski Resort. Counselors will be assigned to either the Hunt or Edmunds bus and will work five to seven hours per weeks elect Thursday evenings, January
- March 2026.
Union Affiliation: Non-Union
Pay Grade: $18.59 - $20.00 Hourly
Remote Tier 1: Zero (0) days remote/month
Responsibilities- Follow all departmental rules and regulations.
- Assist Program Director in organizing program.
- Assist Program Director in supervising participants and volunteers.
- Assist Program Director in keeping accountability of all participants and gear. Check area for safety hazards and report deficiencies to supervisor.
- Attend staff meetings and staff trainings as required.
- Report all accidents/incidents occurring within jurisdiction to supervisor. Administer proper First Aid as required.
- Required to be onsite before the program starts for setup and preparation. Required to cleanup at the end of the day.
- Participate in the evaluation process.
- Any and all other duties as assigned.
- Ability to actively support City diversity, equity, and cultural competency efforts within stated job responsibilities and work effectively across diverse cultures and constituencies.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion as evidenced by ongoing training and professional development.
- Previous experience working with children in a group or individualized situation preferred.
- High school Diploma or equivalent required.
- College coursework in education, childhood development, family studies, or recreation preferred.
- Ability to supervise and organize groups of children for activity programs.
- Ability to deal effectively with discipline problems, co-workers and supervisors.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision.
- Knowledge of safety principles and practices as they apply to group activities.
- Knowledge of a variety of recreation-leisure activities and group games. A cooperative attitude and a team player.
- First-Aid/CPR training required. Certification courses available after hire.
- Enthusiasm, patience, a desire to work with children and creativity.
