Position OverviewThe Sr. Financial Analyst – Store Operations is responsible for the consolidation, analysis, and management of all store operations expenses, including store payroll, shortage‑control payroll, supplies, travel & entertainment, and capital expenditures. The analyst plays a key role in providing strategic and operational guidance to support effective financial planning, forecasting, expense management, and process improvement across the organization.
Responsibilities- Own the consolidation of expenses across the entire Store Operations organization, including store and field payroll, supplies, T&E, and capital expenditures.
- Coordinate the monthly forecast process across the Store Operations organization and communicate consolidated forecasts to Corporate Finance.
- Reconcile and investigate variances during month‑end close, identifying key drivers impacting expense changes.
- Enhance store operations expense dashboard to provide driver‑based analysis and identify risks & opportunities within the forecast.
- Serve as subject matter expert in expense analysis.
- Support weekly forecast for payroll budget encompassing over 1,200 stores.
- Lead payroll reporting efforts, delivering timely and accurate insights to leadership.
- Collaborate with the payroll allocation team to ensure accurate execution of upcoming allocations and adjustments, including staffing model updates, payroll reclassifications, and wage rate updates.
- Support the annual expense budgeting process.
- Partner closely with department leads to ensure budget compliance.
- Develop and maintain analytical models to evaluate key metrics including impact on productivity and payroll expense.
- Provide scenario modeling and financial analysis to support strategic decision‑making.
- Conduct ad‑hoc analyses to support leadership requests, including data collection, organization, report generation, and support for various operational initiatives.
- Partner with Store Operations teams to perform ROI analyses for key projects, forecasting savings opportunities and tracking actual results.
- Prepare and deliver executive‑level reports and presentations summarizing key expense insights and analysis.
- Create ad‑hoc financial reports to support decision‑making processes.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 3‑4 years of experience in Finance with an emphasis on budgeting, forecasting, planning, and analysis.
- Proven experience in finance with demonstrated strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Strong, practical knowledge of MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint and various Business Intelligence reporting mechanisms.
- Strong communication skills, able to translate technical data to non‑technical audiences.
- Retail Operational Finance or FP&A experience preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data gathering, organization, analysis, interpretation, and solution development.
- Proven experience in KPI development and dashboard reporting.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to thrive in a time‑bound environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to interact across a broad range of organizational levels and functions.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
