The company operates a hands-on production environment where engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams work closely together to deliver complex assemblies on schedule and to exacting quality standards.
This is an opportunity to join the organization in a key leadership role overseeing day-to-day assembly operations and a team of skilled manufacturing personnel. The position offers significant ownership across production scheduling, workflow optimization, quality, safety, materials, shipping, and inventory management.
The Assembly/Production Manager will lead daily shop floor operations, overseeing assembly personnel, production schedules, material flow, and project execution. This role is responsible for ensuring assemblies are completed on time, meet quality standards, and are supported by the appropriate resources and materials.
The position requires a hands-on manufacturing leader who is comfortable working directly on the shop floor, managing priorities in real time, resolving production issues, and improving manufacturing workflows. The ideal candidate will have strong experience interpreting 3D assembly drawings, Bills of Materials, and project documentation, along with a proven ability to lead and develop production teams.
This role reports directly to the Operations Manager and is fully onsite in Burlington, NJ.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead daily assembly operations, managing production queues, work prioritization, staffing, and equipment throughput
- Manage, train, coach, and develop assembly personnel while maintaining a productive and accountable shop floor
- Ensure project assemblies are completed according to schedule, quality standards, and customer requirements
- Monitor production workflows and identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve throughput
- Apply lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles to reduce waste, minimize downtime, and optimize shop floor efficiency
- Enforce safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and compliant manufacturing environment
- Oversee first-piece and final quality inspections to ensure assemblies meet specifications and project requirements
- Read and interpret 3D assembly drawings, Bills of Materials, and other engineering and project documentation
- Partner closely with engineering and purchasing teams to resolve technical, material, and supply chain issues
- Receive and inspect incoming materials, verifying quantities and condition against purchase orders and project requirements
- Coordinate packaging and shipping activities while providing the Logistics team with necessary shipment information
- Oversee loading of completed equipment and assemblies onto carriers
- Maintain accurate inventory records by tracking incoming and outgoing materials and reconciling physical inventory against ERP/MRP records and purchase orders
- Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits, investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Allocate labor, materials, and resources effectively to maintain production schedules and project timelines
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, staffing, and resource utilization across the shop
- Communicate production status, issues, and priorities to operations, engineering, purchasing, and logistics teams
- 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience, including 3+ years in a shop-floor supervisory or management role
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related discipline preferred; equivalent practical experience will be considered
