Utility Locator – USIC

Compensation: $23.00 per hour (entry‑level) to $29.00 per hour (experienced).

Your Responsibilities as a Locator:

• Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems.
• Thoroughly search for underground utilities in a designated area, accurately marking, documenting, and photographing each locate.
• Work full‑time during daytime hours; availability for overtime, weekend shifts, and on‑call (including nights and weekends) is required.

Required Qualifications:

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions; previous outdoor experience is a plus.
• Computer proficiency.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts as needed.
• Must pass a drug screen (safety‑sensitive position).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Able to work in confined spaces, walk, bend, lift up to 75 lbs.
• Able to distinguish colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.
• Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, maps, and prints.
• Strong communication skills with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
