Base pay range$14.00/hr - $16.00/hr
DescriptionThe Growing Years of Burlington is a licensed childcare center seeking Assistant Teachers to support the following age group(s):
- Toddlers
To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma, completion of early childhood education credentials or 6 credits worth of early childhood education courses or their equivalent, and the ability to pass all background checks. Plus if you have previous childcare experience.
Required Shift: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
Compensation: $14–$16/hr, based on education and experience

Job Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.
- Implement activities that encourage each child’s growth in the areas of emotion, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
- Take direction, accept constructive criticism and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the quality of the program.
- Create and maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children.
- Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
- Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
