Interventional Radiologic Technologist

The Interventional Radiologic Technologist is a specialized radiologic technologist who assists physicians with minimally invasive procedures that guide instruments through a patient's blood vessels and organs. Working under direct supervision, this role involves performing procedures such as angioplasties, biopsies, image-guided thermal ablations, and stent placements. Responsibilities include setting up sterile equipment trays, positioning patients correctly, operating fluoroscopic equipment, and capturing images.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform minimally invasive exams following established protocols to minimize additional imaging and radiation exposure.
  • Operate and maintain specialized interventional radiology equipment, adhering to safety protocols and performing regular maintenance checks.
  • Assist radiologists and medical staff during procedures, providing real-time imaging support for accurate device placement and interventions.
  • Complete exams and documentation accurately in Computerized Health Information (CHL) and PACS, including charge identification and error correction.
  • Assist with patient transport to ensure smooth workflow during procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; graduate of a Radiology, Imaging, or related educational program.
    • Experience: [Specify if required or preferred]
    • Licensure/Certification: ARRT (R) Radiologic Technologist – Dx and/or RCIS Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist; BLS (CPR) from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare.
