American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring STEMI and Stroke facility experience and a NC or compact RN license.
Details- Emergency Department serving a general adult/pediatric combined population
- STEMI and Stroke certified, non-trauma facility
- Patient populations include cancer, sepsis, medical emergencies, and behavioral health cases
- Hospital specialties include cath lab, women's health, and stroke care
- Cares for patients of all ages
- 1:4 patient ratio
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 3:00am-3:30pm (occasional 7a-7:30p shifts as needed)
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required as needed
- No on-call requirements
- May float to any Cone Health campus as needed
- Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; PALS required
- STARR/Behavioral population certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- EPIC EMR experience required
- STEMI and Stroke facility experience required
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Skills in respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, ABG interpretation) preferred
- IV therapy skills including central line care and blood product administration preferred
- Experience with IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation preferred
- Neurological care experience (CVA, ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, TBI, spinal cord injury) preferred
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and EKG skills required
- Triage and PPE/isolation precaution skills preferred
- Ortho trauma experience preferred
- Must pass a compliance EKG exam (two attempts allowed)
- Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of acute and critical conditions, including trauma-related injuries, cardiac events, and behavioral health cases
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO accepted
