Bolton Ski and Ride Youth Program Assistant Director

General PurposeThe assistant director provides leadership in administration and facilitation for the Bolton After school Ski and Ride program alongside the Program Director. The assistant director will act as the supervisory staff on‑site, on buses, and in transitions for all instances in which the program director cannot be present and as a support staff at all other times. The position will work five to seven hours per week on select Thursday evenings, January‑March 2026.

Pay grade: $19.15 – $22.00 per hour.
Remote Tier 1:
Zero days per month.
- Follow all departmental rules and regulations.
- Provide outstanding customer service to participants, volunteers, and relevant stakeholders such as families, mountain staff, and community members.
- Role model and exemplify outdoor education best practices and BPRW core values across locations and audiences.
- Alongside the Program Director, provide facilitation of program procedures on‑site and in transitions.
- Assist the Program Director in organizing program rosters, registration, waivers, and contracts.
- Help coordinate staff and volunteer roles, placement, and tasks.
- Assist the Program Director in supervising participants, volunteers, and staff.
- Recognize potential or present safety hazards and report deficiencies to the Program Director.
- Ride the bus to and from Bolton Valley Ski Resort with participants to provide supervision during transportation and at the mountain/clubhouse.
- Be on site before and after the program for set up and take down; attend staff meetings and staff trainings as required.
- Report all accidents/incidents occurring within jurisdiction to supervisor and administer proper first aid as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to actively support City diversity, equity, and cultural competency efforts within stated job responsibilities and work effectively across diverse cultures and constituencies.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion as evidenced by ongoing training and professional development.
- Previous experience working with children in a group or individualized situation preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- College coursework in education, childhood development, family studies, or recreation preferred. Ability to supervise and organize groups of children for activity programs.
- Ability to deal effectively with discipline problems, co‑workers and supervisors. Ability to work independently under general supervision.
- Knowledge of safety principles and practices as they apply to group activities.
- Knowledge of a variety of recreation‑leisure activities and group games.
- A cooperative attitude and a team player.
- First‑Aid / CPR training required; certification courses available after hire.
- Enthusiasm, patience, a desire to work with children and creativity.
