Probationary period may be required. Occasional evening and/or weekend work required. Background Check required. Union Position – Yes (UVMSU).
- Serve as a central resource for graduate student success and well‑being by coordinating access to academic, wellness, and intercultural support services.
- Act as primary contact for students and faculty.
- Organize orientation and campus resource events.
- Promote academic achievement through advising, tutoring, and mentoring programs.
- Liaise with health and accessibility services to ensure academic continuity.
- Advance intercultural excellence initiatives and develop programs that foster belonging and equity.
- Manage sensitive data and records.
- Prepare detailed communications and reports.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of university policies.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Three years of related experience, including a student support role and documented experience supporting intercultural initiatives.
- Basic knowledge of mental health issues common in student populations.
- Confident verbal communication skills to engage students, faculty, and staff.
- Proficient user of MS Office suite and software applications to produce documents, reports, seminars, and workshop materials.
- Effective written communication, analytical, reasoning, and problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently under pressure, prioritize tasks, and maintain confidentiality.
- Experience working in a college/university setting, preferably with a graduate population.
- Mental health counseling experience.
- Event management experience and digital media skills.
- Experience working with international students.
- Familiarity with Banner, Repgen, Canva, Navigate
360, and Drupal.
