Sr Practicum to Graduate Nurse Pipeline Program

Overview

The Sr Practicum to Graduate Nurse Pipeline Program outlines a path for nursing students to complete their Senior Practicum on Med/Surg. Upon successful completion of the Practicum, passing the NCLEX and becoming licensed as an RN, the student will transition into a Registered Nurse role on that floor.

The Med/Surg Cohort start date is June 6, 2026 and is specific to certain schools (UVM, Norwich and VTSU Castleton).

• The Med/Surg Unit RN will be a highly competent and well-organized professional who places the patient at the center of every decision. The Unit RN values safety, security and patient wellness above all else.
• Focus on providing the best care possible while ensuring patient satisfaction in every interaction, working closely with other members of the patient care team.

• Licensed RN (or eligible to become licensed as an RN after completing NCLEX)
• Experience or training as a nursing student completing a Senior Practicum on Med/Surg (program pathway described)
